Below is what we learned in January!
PCC word of the month: Tolerance
I love this word, because it helps us practice all of the other words of the month we have learned so far! Tolerance is something that is required of us all and requires very positive thinking, something that is sometimes difficult for students with emotional difficulties. In our 5/6th grade group we exercised our brain to practice the power of positive thinking. We identified hurdles during our day and ways to jump over them to stay positive!

Giving compliments can show tolerance
In our 3/4th grade behavior group we traced our bodies and went around the room to practice giving compliments to others. We discussed that although there are many things that could "bother" us about someone, there are so many great things to value in each other! Students loved reading the kind words of their classmates! Positive thinking starts when you wake up!
We discussed how our thoughts when we wake up and when we fall asleep can impact our day. We made pillow cases to help "train our brain" with positive images so we can begin and end our day on the right foot. |
